Nikki Griffin

Vocal Coach

A performer and songwriting specialist, Nikki Griffin is the co-director of Voiceworks Studio. She is a compassionate vocal coach who is keen to help singers explore all of their creative abilities to prepare them for the stage and the studio, and add music to their lives for not only career goals, but also to help her students feel more connected to themselves and able to express what they're feeling through sound. She has dedicated years to her craft and continues to further her studies in voice education and performance. Many of her students have gone on to further their education in music and performance, and build careers out of the voices they've unlocked through their practice and lessons. As a performer, Nikki is a local artist seen over the Cork Jazz Weekend and beyond, and has seen stages all over Ireland, Italy and New York City. In her performing career, she has worked with Damien Rice, Bon Iver, Finbar Wright, Colm Wilkinson, and also amazing local artists such as The Art Crimes, and her current collaboration partner, guitarist and composer Sam Barker. Nikki conducts the Teen Indie Choir, a passion project that has been years in the making. She is passionate in finding creativity and expression in music, and the community it brings.

Alison Ronayne

Singer, Vocal Coach and Choir Conductor, Alison is the co-owner of Voiceworks Studio. Alison graduated from the MTU Cork School of Music with a first-class honours BA in Popular Music, specialising in voice. As a singing teacher with over 10 years of experience, Alison is passionate about helping each student to learn how to master their voice while having some fun along the way. Having completed many singing teacher training courses (including completing the B.A.S.T course twice) and studying with several renowned voice experts including Dr. Trish Rooney, Gemma Sugrue, Laoise Leahy, Aine Whelan, Ian Davidson, Kaya Herstad Carney and more, Alison loves to use evidence based vocal exercises in her lessons and to give each student the knowledge of what each exercise does for the voice. Alison has sang all over Ireland as a session singer, at festivals such as Electric Picnic and on stages such as The Everyman Theatre Cork, The Cork Opera House Stage and Cyprus Avenue in Cork and The National Concert Hall in Dublin. A lover of backing vocals, Alison has had the privilege to sing with artists such as The Staves, Ben Howard, Angie MacMahon, Leif Vollebekk, David Kitt, Efterklang, Laoise Leahy and more… And as part of a backing choir she has even made an appearance on RTE on several shows such as Daniel O Donnell’s Christmas Special and The Voice of Ireland. Alongside her passion for vocal coaching, Alison conducts the Voiceworks Indie Choir which has over 100 singers. Her passion for harmonies is infectious and in 2025 Alison had the pleasure of conducting the choir at the National Concert Hall in Dublin as support act for Eimear Creahan’s show.

Leanne Curtin

Leanne is a singer, vocal coach, backing vocalist and vocal arranger based in Cork City. She graduated from MTU Cork school of music in 2024 with a first class honours in the BA: Popular Music: Voice and is continuing with an MA in Vocal Performance. In her time there she completed 3 years of the BA: Musical Theatre degree. Here she studied contemporary and legit musical theatre vocal training and acting through song, attaining a well-rounded understanding of different types of vocal training available. In her final year, she switched to the popular music degree to obtain the training and skills available for her own professional development. She was also vocal MD for the MTU Gospel Choir in 2023/2024. Leanne is from North Cork and was surrounded by music from a very young age. From the age of 12 she began training and completed her grade 8 in Musical Theatre. At this age she sang and played for weddings and funerals with her family and this is where her passion blossomed. Leanne has performed with various bands all over the country and has performed in venues such as RTE Studios Dublin: The Late Late New Year’s special, Cork Opera House, The Everyman, City Hall, The Academy, Whelan’s, The Sugar Club and more. In her performing career she has worked with an array of artists such as Aby Coulibaly, Moio, Monjola, Tolu MacKay and Aine Wheelan. Leanne has an immense passion for creating, collaborating and celebrating music with others and aims to deliver a broad understanding of the voice and how each person's individuality can shine through their craft.

Daisy Ni Ruaidh

Daisy is a singer, vocal coach, backing vocalist and arranger based in Cork City. After developing a love for music and singing from a young age, she began studying at Voiceworks at twelve, before pursuing a BA in Popular Music at MTU Cork School of Music, where she graduated with First-Class Honours. During her studies, Daisy specialised in jazz, arranging and musical direction; developing a strong set of musicianship skills, vocal abilities and a wide array of musical knowledge. At MTU, Daisy was the principal conductor for the MTU Cork Gospel Choir and served as the principal vocalist for the CSM Jazz Big Band for two years under the guidance of Cormac McCarthy. Since graduating, Daisy continues to hone her craft alongside top Irish jazz musicians, performing nationwide. Notably, she was a featured soloist with the Paul Dunlea Big Band at Cork Opera House in September 2025. On her musical journey, Daisy has developed a passion for artistry and finding an individual voice; her personal artistic vision centres on the intersection of jazz and modern music, with a strong emphasis on storytelling. Having also completed the B.A.S.T. course, she aims to help other singers find their own voice and develop their inner artist, while strengthening the voice for happy and healthy cords!

Becky Phillips

Becky is a singer and vocal coach based in Cork City. She graduated from CIT Cork School of Music with a First-Class Honours BA in Popular Music: Voice. Originally from West Cork, Becky grew up surrounded by music, and singing has always been a huge passion of hers. She attended singing lessons from the age of six and has been on an extensive vocal journey ever since. Studying vocal pedagogy in her final year of her degree sparked an interest in learning more about voice science in order to help people to understand their own voices and be able to overcome any struggles they may have. Becky has performed with cover bands across the country and regularly gigs in local venues as a duo. Through a combination of her studies in vocal pedagogy and her own experiences with performing and gigging, Becky has gained insight into a variety of struggles singers face that hinder their progress in achieving their goals. A lover of backing vocals, Alison has had the privilege to sing with artists such as The Staves, Ben Howard, Angie MacMahon, Leif Vollebekk, David Kitt, Efterklang, Laoise Leahy and more… And as part of a backing choir she has even made an appearance on RTE on several shows such as Daniel O Donnell’s Christmas Special and The Voice of Ireland. Alongside her passion for vocal coaching, Alison conducts the Voiceworks Indie Choir which has over 100 singers. Her passion for harmonies is infectious and in 2025 Alison had the pleasure of conducting the choir at the National Concert Hall in Dublin as support act for Eimear Creahan’s show.

Leanne Curtin

Leanne is a singer, vocal coach, backing vocalist and vocal arranger based in Cork City. She graduated from MTU Cork school of music in 2024 with a first class honours in the BA: Popular Music: Voice and is continuing with an MA in Vocal Performance. In her time there she completed 3 years of the BA: Musical Theatre degree. Here she studied contemporary and legit musical theatre vocal training and acting through song, attaining a well-rounded understanding of different types of vocal training available. In her final year, she switched to the popular music degree to obtain the training and skills available for her own professional development. She was also vocal MD for the MTU Gospel Choir in 2023/2024. Leanne is from North Cork and was surrounded by music from a very young age. From the age of 12 she began training and completed her grade 8 in Musical Theatre. At this age she sang and played for weddings and funerals with her family and this is where her passion blossomed. Leanne has performed with various bands all over the country and has performed in venues such as RTE Studios Dublin: The Late Late New Year’s special, Cork Opera House, The Everyman, City Hall, The Academy, Whelan’s, The Sugar Club and more. In her performing career she has worked with an array of artists such as Aby Coulibaly, Moio, Monjola, Tolu MacKay and Aine Wheelan. Leanne has an immense passion for creating, collaborating and celebrating music with others and aims to deliver a broad understanding of the voice and how each person's individuality can shine through their craft.

Daisy Ni Ruaidh

Daisy is a singer, vocal coach, backing vocalist and arranger based in Cork City. After developing a love for music and singing from a young age, she began studying at Voiceworks at twelve, before pursuing a BA in Popular Music at MTU Cork School of Music, where she graduated with First-Class Honours. During her studies, Daisy specialised in jazz, arranging and musical direction; developing a strong set of musicianship skills, vocal abilities and a wide array of musical knowledge. At MTU, Daisy was the principal conductor for the MTU Cork Gospel Choir and served as the principal vocalist for the CSM Jazz Big Band for two years under the guidance of Cormac McCarthy. Since graduating, Daisy continues to hone her craft alongside top Irish jazz musicians, performing nationwide. Notably, she was a featured soloist with the Paul Dunlea Big Band at Cork Opera House in September 2025. On her musical journey, Daisy has developed a passion for artistry and finding an individual voice; her personal artistic vision centres on the intersection of jazz and modern music, with a strong emphasis on storytelling. Having also completed the B.A.S.T. course, she aims to help other singers find their own voice and develop their inner artist, while strengthening the voice for happy and healthy cords!

Becky Phillips

Becky is a singer and vocal coach based in Cork City. She graduated from CIT Cork School of Music with a First-Class Honours BA in Popular Music: Voice. Originally from West Cork, Becky grew up surrounded by music, and singing has always been a huge passion of hers. She attended singing lessons from the age of six and has been on an extensive vocal journey ever since. Studying vocal pedagogy in her final year of her degree sparked an interest in learning more about voice science in order to help people to understand their own voices and be able to overcome any struggles they may have. Becky has performed with cover bands across the country and regularly gigs in local venues as a duo. Through a combination of her studies in vocal pedagogy and her own experiences with performing and gigging, Becky has gained insight into a variety of struggles singers face that hinder their progress in achieving their goals. Becky is passionate about helping other singers overcome these roadblocks and unlocking their full potential while rediscovering their love for singing.
