What is Voiceworks Studio?

Voiceworks Studio is a contemporary singing school offering online & in person singing lessons, workshops and courses.

Since it’s founding in 2011, the school has become and remained a vital part of the Cork music scene, whether it’s providing beginners with singing lessons, guiding gigging musicians with professional vocal health and technique, or helping school students attain stellar results in their school practicals and college auditions.

Voiceworks has and is always committed to providing the highest quality vocal coaching in Ireland thanks to it’s incredible staff (who continue to stay up to date in advancing vocal science, anatomy, pedagogy and performance skills) and organising & facilitating staff training events with world renowned vocal coaches, performers and voice scientists.

The Directors

Hey! We’re Nikki & Alison, and we’re the co-owners and directors of Voiceworks Studio.

Nikki Griffin

Nikki Griffin

Nikki is a Cork born singer-songwriter and vocal coach who graduated with a first class honours in her Masters in Music Performance (MA) and also in her Bachelors of Music (BMus) in MTU Cork School of Music. She has a large performance career in jazz, folk and traditional music and has performed in stages such as the Cork Opera House all the way to Manhattan New York. Nikki has also seen the stage as a backing vocalist for artists such as Damien Rice, Bon Iver and Marlene Enright.

Nikki’s first stage performance was at the very first Voiceworks event in 2011, where she met Voiceworks founders Gemma Sugrue and Laoise Leahy. She went on to join the school as a vocal coach in 2017, and found a passion for teaching. Nikki went on to further her pedagogy studies by completing BAST, VSW, and attends the Vocology in Practice conference bi-annually. Her passion in voice and voice science have only continued to grow.

In 2021, Nikki became co-director and co-owner of Voiceworks Studio alongside one of her closest friends and colleagues, Alison Ronayne.
