The CUH (Cork University Hospital) Charity was established early in 2012 with the aim to provide a wide range of life-changing and life-saving equipment, facilities and services for patients in CUH, covering a region of up to 1.5 million people. Operating as a centre of excellence for over 42 different medical and surgical specialities on the campus including Cancer Services, Cardiac & Renal Services, Paediatrics, Neurosciences, Renal Medicine, Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine, CUH is unique as it is the only Level 1 Trauma Hospital in the country.

At present CUH Charity is placing a huge emphasis on their Children’s Unit Fundraising Appeal. On an annual basis, over 30,000 children use the services of CUH. Cork University Hospital is a specialist centre for children with a range of illnesses including Cystic Fibrosis, Diabetes and Epilepsy to name a few. Unfortunately, the children being treated in the Children’s Unit each year are limited to facilities that were built in the 1970’s. CUH Charity’s aim is to raise a total of €1,500,000 to refurbish In-patient facilities in the Children’s Unit. The Charity hopes to replace the current outdated Children’s Unit with a state-of-the-art facility to meet the medical and surgical needs for the children of the Greater Munster region and incorporate Paediatric Services in one single unit. CUH Charity’s goal is to transform our hospital into a single centre of excellence for Munster and give all children the services and care they truly deserve.

PrintMercy Kid & Teens Appeal

We raised nearly €2000 at UCC Rocks last July for The Mercy Children and Teen Appeal and UCC disability services. We felt this was an important contribution to make to the local community without the support from whom, a business like Voiceworks could not operate. It also brought new meaning and purpose to the student’s preparation and participation in the concert.
